Our cozy private accommodations are located next to Itacoatiara Beach, which is 20 miles east of Rio de Janeiro, noted as being among the most beautiful and historically rich cities in South America. The entire region is located in the tropical, southeast section of Brazil.
Itacoatiara Beach is open to the sea and bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, having a wide stretch of white sand about a quarter of a mile long. The beach stretches between two seven hundred fifty foot high outcroppings of rock that are lined with trails. Itacoatiara is a popular hangout of the local fashionable crowd. Some of the folks who frequent the beach are world-class, champion athletes. So there are often lots of sports activities going on like surfing; biking; jogging; swimming and the like. Itacoatiara Beach is also renown for bodyboard enthusiasts. Kiosks with convenient seating can be found along the boardwalk where snacks, delicious sandwiches made from local natural ingredients, coconut water and other beverages, and many Brazilian specialties can be enjoyed as you stroll around the area.
Your stay will be in a selected place – an exclusive private “village” in the city of Niterói, just across the bay from Rio de Janeiro, reachable by means of the Bridge and by ferry boats that at all times (15 minutes trips) from Down Town Niterói (about 20 minutes away from Itacoatiara). Your accomadations will be surrounded by attractive, one and two story houses and ecologicaly planned pathsways. By local ordinance, no tall buildings have been built in the village.
The climate is sub-tropical and ranges between 20ºC (winter) and 35ºC (summer). Summer afternoons are subject to occasional quick showers. The beach is sunny with nearby shade from the trees that flower year round. Lush tropical plants, like palm trees, are abundant in the area, which is surrounded by ecologically preserved native tropical trees.
